Poker Heaven is part of the Gaming Media Group, an organisation combining one of Europe’s leading online gaming operations, across poker, casino and bingo, with one of Europe’s largest gaming media platforms. Launched in March 2005 Poker Heaven quickly became the 2nd largest operator on the International Poker Network (IPN) by Mar 07. They have a broad geographic customer mix across 14 territories across Europe and offer their website in 10 different languages.
No Bluffing with Email Marketing
Poker Heaven have worked with Emailvision since their inception in 2005 and initially were using Campaign Commander™ on an adhoc basis to send manual email campaigns. As the company grew they were soon building their daily website subscription rate resulting in a current subscriber database of over 250,000. Poker Heaven view their email marketing as part of a multi-channel marketing philosophy, mirroring the promotional messaging across their multi-lingual websites and call centre activity.
As their database has grown, Poker Heaven have built a more advanced email marketing programme to fully utilise the more sophisticated functionality within Campaign Commander™. Working with their in-house design team, Poker Heaven now send a number of promotional email campaigns every week. These range from standard newsletters in 12 languages through to targeted promotional campaigns.
When a customer is logged in to the website, Poker Heaven often sends real time emails with promotional messaging. In order to reactivate lapsed customers, Poker Heaven use the information gathered through data synchronisations to Campaign Commander™ to target less active members. By capturing the ‘last login date’ as a database field, they are able to select a list segment of those customers who haven’t used their account for a few weeks or months and target with a reactivation campaign, using promotional messaging and exclusive offers.
Poker Heaven have set up trigger campaigns for new registered users, developing their promotional emails into an
automated series of emails with the Reflex tool in Campaign Commander™. Once a new customer registers on their website they receive a welcome email, then another 4 emails in a sequence over the next 3 weeks. The emails will contain various helpful operational information and promotional messaging to monetise the email campaigns.
